Plainview Area Health System’s Out Reach Clinic provides the surrounding communities with extended medical coverage by having 14 specialists visit on a monthly basis.  The specialists that visit come from many different areas, including:  Omaha, Sioux City, IA, Norfolk, Yankton, SD.

About Our Providers….

                 Edward Clive Botha, M.D., a native of South Africa, came to the U.S. in 1995.  He graduated from Muir College and completed his medical degree in family practice at the University of Cape Town.  For a short time, He performed his internship in Pontiac, MI, and then returned to South Africa.  He taught briefly at the University of Cape Town and was in solo practice for 17 years.  In 1995 Dr. Botha started his practice with Plainview Area Health System.

 

  

  

                John L. McFee, Jr., M.D., is a general practice physician.  He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and his medical school at the University of Nebraska School of Medicine.  After three years of residency, he spent two years in the U.S. Army stationed at Munson Army Hospital in Leavenworth, KS, followed by tow years in Albion and O’Neill area before moving his practice to Ipswich, SD, where he spent 13 years.  He then moved his practice to Bowdle, SD, and spent another 13 years there before arriving at Plainview Area Health System in July 2000.

  

                Martha McCabe, P.A., a physicians assistant, will begin her duties at the hospital on Monday, Sept. 17 and expects to begin seeing patients shortly thereafter.  McCabe received here Bachelor of Science and Physicians Assistant degrees from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  Prior to that she had earned an Associate of Arts degree as a Medical Lab Technician from Mid-Plains Community College.
