    Lady Pirates move forward in tourney
    The Plainview Lady Pirates girls’ basketball team easily brushed aside Winside in the first round of the Randolph Holiday Tournament at Randolph on Monday, winning 64-44.
    This win marks the second victory for the girls this season.
    Ashlee Johnston led the team with 27 points. Also scoring for the team was Michelle Sauser with 12 points, Brittany White and Sara Krueger with nine points each, Paige Anderson had four points and Camille Friedrich contributed three points. 
    Krueger led the team with 11 rebounds, Johnston grabbed eight rebounds and Michelle Sauser had five.
    Krueger also led the team with six assists and Johnston followed with four.
    Johnston managed to get the team high of eight steals, Friedrich and White had four steals each.
